We created a blue-ribbon Selection Team that was first led by basketball trailblazer, McDonald's All-American Game Founder Bob Geoghan. The road to Knoxville will feature great in-state and regional rivalries, excitement and upsets as teams make their way into history at The Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in Knoxville.

The Selection Team also wanted to be considerate but fair to teams from some states and international teams who cannot easily access the regional sites given their distance. International/Small State Direct teams will be directly invited to Championship Weekend. This allows small state and international teams to only travel once.
